mbG Interviewed by Ron Hurst
Awards are great, but one of the greatest honors that I think that I could have received is to be interviewed by another leader. Manager, Leader, Coach Ron Hurst from Developing Leaders and Material Leadership has recently interviewed me for a new series of podcasts that he is putting together on the topic of purpose. I am quite honored and humbled by his desire to interview me and share some of the management by God story.
The large focus of the interview was on "purpose". He wanted to know about how mbG has either helped me to realize or refine the my purpose. I believe, as Ron does, that purpose is one of the most important aspects of being a leader. It is out of purpose that one finds direction. Without purpose, we are simply wandering from random points to random points. Purpose tells us where we are, were we want to go, and even helps to fill in the gaps regarding how to get there from here. Leaders are relied upon to provide vision for their organizations, and without purpose a leader will lack any sort of substantial, or real vision.
Some might even argue that their "purpose" is to be a leader. This is an incorrect perspective. I would argue that leaders are people with well defined purpose. It is the people who know where they want to go, and have a plan or vision to get there that become the leaders.
One of the things that I learned most from this interview is about the impact that someone with a well defined purpose can have. The success of mbG has been well beyond anything that I ever expected, but I can tell you that this likely stems from the passion that I have for studying the Word of God, and finding ways to apply it to our lives. I am so passionate about this because it is a part of who I am... it is my reason for being... it is my purpose in life. So you see one's purpose manifest itself into something greater, such as this blog.
So I encourage you to read Ron's postmortem on the interview, and watch for the podcast. It is my hope that it will bless you as much as your readership has blessed me...

Congratulations Dan!!! That's wonderful! So you'll be a part of his podcasts (did I read that right?) Also congrats on the move!!! In my opinion, he couldn't have picked a better person to interview due to your Godly perspective. Hopefully you will reach a broader audience and therefore lend your wisdom, skill, and experience to them as well.
God bless you in all your endeavors.
